How to use CDA in your research project
Tom and Michael (with Michael Kranert and Jane Mulderrig) are running an in-person workshop for PhD students and early career researchers on CDA. Sheffield, UK 15th & 16th January 2026.
We’ve got a fantastic venue in Sheffield: The Chimney House, close to Sheffield city centre and in the wonderful Kelham Island area of the city.

Our focus will be on working with participants to really get at how CDA can work for them in their specific research projects. We’ll introduce theoretical ideas on CDA, methods of analysis and tools, such as corpus analysis and explore if and how these could be incorporated into specific research projects.
Numbers are limited so that we can work closely and fruitfully on the work of workshop participants.
Participants are also enrolled in a group chat ahead of the workshop so that we can start tailoring sessions to participants and build the group dynamic from the outset.
